El Marco takes its name and inspiration from Frida Kahlo’s work of the same title, where her portrait is surrounded by vivid flowers and birds within an ornate frame rooted in Mexican folk art. Here, the frame steps beyond the canvas and becomes part of the body. La Vierge’s floral motifs stand out against a deep red ground, intertwined with strands of ostrich feathers that sway with every movement like brushstrokes coming to life. What was once still becomes alive, transforming the woman into a moving painting filled with colour, nature and the spirit of Mexico.
